Description
The Forest II 10×42 is basically daytime binoculars, although it will also do its job at night. It has a higher magnification than the twin model Forest II 8×42, and therefore better suited for observing focused, distant objects. Despite the 10x magnification, it still offers the user an extensive 6.8 Β° field of view, free from astigmatism, chromatic aberration and coma.
Faithful colors and a bright image in these binoculars are thanks to prisms made of high-quality BaK4 glass and anti-reflection coatings that cover all optical elements of the binoculars. A properly darkened interior of the tubes additionally prevents internal reflections, and the nitrogen filling prevents the glasses in the body of the device from evaporating. In addition, they are waterproof binoculars, so even for observation during rainfall.
When walking or traveling with a backpack, every gram of luggage matters, which is why the Forest II series of binoculars has been designed in such a way as to optimally combine the high optical properties of the device with small dimensions. Combined with a modern look, the Forest II series will surely be appreciated by all “mobile” observers who value the convenience of using and storing optical equipment.
All this, combined with the low price, confirms the belief that it is one of the best binoculars among binoculars intended mainly for nature and tourist observations. Everyone who spends his free time in nature should have such binoculars!
In the entire Delta Optical Forest II series, the optical system of the binoculars consists of 8 elements in 6 groups, and in the construction we used high-quality roof prisms made of BaK4 glass with phase corrected, whose reflecting surfaces are covered with silver, which ensures an extremely sharp and bright image. In addition, in the Forest II models, all active optical surfaces of the lenses are covered with high-quality multilayer antireflection coatings of the FMC type. Thanks to them, the binoculars are characterized by high light transmission and neutral colors of the image. Well-darkened inside of the tubes prevent unwanted reflections and “ghosts” from appearing in the image.
All the Forest II series binoculars feature a smoothly moving central focusing knob and individual diopter adjustment in the right eyepiece. The rubber, adjustable twist-up eyecups slide out, allowing the eyepieces to be comfortably adjusted to the individual needs of the observer. The Forest II series binoculars will withstand even the toughest weather conditions. Their sealed housing allows for free use in wet terrain, and even in the rain. Forest II binoculars can withstand immersion in water for 5 minutes, up to a depth of 1 m, and the filling of the structure with nitrogen prevents the optics from fogging inside the housing.
